Experience an unique stay, as you will be only be a metre away from the sea, so close that the waves sometimes touch the windows.
Stay safe in a fully self contained cottage - with its own entrance, slipway, amenities. self check in, key access and high hygiene standards.
The Coastguard Boat House was one of the first to be awarded to "Good to Go" brand recognising its commitment to ensuring its visitors experience a safe stay.
Although we are now living with Covid, we still remain committed to offering you a safe stay and in particular for guests who are vulnerable we are content to take extra precautions and discuss with you ways we can make you feel extra secure.
The Boat House is a very convenient (ten minutes in car, bus, train) to busy Belfast City Centre with its pubs, clubs, restaurants, the Titanic museum and walking tours.
Drive the opposite direction and you are 15 minutes to the Gobbins Coastal Path and Carrickfergus Castle.
You will be staying at the start of the Causeway Coastal Drive- less than 40 minutes from the Giant's Causeway.
In summer, watch ships sail past, taste & smell salty air. Or stroll along the coastal path to the newly opened King's Coronation Garden at Hazelbank, Newtownabbey.
All of the Boat House is yours - it is a detached, stand alone bungalow, so no concerns about noisy neighbours or privacy.
The Boat House is also all on one level with no steps, has extra wide doors, has a shower seat and so is suitable for people who have mobility challenges, but please check with us to ensure we can host you.
And if you have a four legged furry baby (doggie) you can relax as we are a dog friendly holiday let.
For folks with babies we can provide a cot, kid's utensils, a property all on one level and a high chair.
We offer all modern conveniences but with original features from its 200 year history.
And although we are in a private laneway on the coast, you can walk to Whiteabbey Village, in 5 mins for fresh food, pubs and pharmacy.
Or take a longer walk along the Coast to the coffee can for a coffee at Hazelbank Park.
We have recently introduced a sail shade on the slip way - for guests can enjoy refreshment outside, even in the summer and spring showers.
We are open all year around so ideal for a summer break, or a winter get away.
